The meeting was called to order
at 6:47 p.m., at The Peppermill Restaurant,

Secretary’s report: The reading
of minutes of the last meeting held April 11,
2017, were dispensed with after motion and
approval by the members. Treasurer’s report: The
balance is $4,762.93. The bank charges a $5.00
service charge when the account balance is under
$5,000.00.
Editor’s report: The next Clipper
will include: an article by Dave Charvet, a
recap of the Oregon Gardens Tour and the
upcoming tour to California. Individual
contributions would be appreciated. John said
four Clipper publications a year is
maintainable.
New members: none
The Norcal Tour registration form
has been sent to all who have email and printed
forms are available from Robert Douglas.
June 11, 2017 is the Annual
Strawberry Social & Tour at the Jabs’ residence.
June 19-23/2017 is the Classic Car Club National
Packard meeting in South Bend, Indiana. June 24,
2017 is the Pacific Northwest CCCA Grand
Classic.
Joe Santana has a car wheel for a
6 cylinder Packard & a box of Packard magazines
to give away. He also passed out an Orenco
Station (Hillsboro, Oregon) brochure produced by
the Business Owners Association showing a map
and list of the many and diverse businesses and
activities.
Bill Price is organizing a tour
August 5, 2017, and the Orenco Station may work
out for a display of cars. Joe will check on the
details and date and get back with Bill for
organizing the event.
George Chobin was in the hospital
for emergency surgery and is recovering at home
now.
Wade was on his way to Albany
when a rock cracked his windshield on one of his
restored cars. A glass company in McMinnville
was able to cut and fit a new windshield.
Matt mentioned that the second
Saturday of the month there is an open house at
the Western Heritage Museum in Hood River,
Oregon. He also said he discovered a Turtle Wax
product which masks odors in cars, such as mice
and cigarettes. He has emailed specific
information on his alleged prototype car to Mr.
Dixon, who is knowledgeable and prolific. He
charges $30.00 an hour if he finds information,
but charges nothing if he does not find
anything.
Wade mentioned Studebaker is
still in business in Canada and makes studs for
tires. Howard said the Club’s Certificate from
the Packard Club of America is on his garage
wall, and the State of Oregon Corporate License
has been renewed. John and Howard are
participating in the Rose Parade this year.
Howard has ordered a 6V electric
fan for his 1950 DeSoto to place in front of the
radiator. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
